And the Journey Continues!

We celebrated with dinner at Mr. Wok's after the Gold Medal game with the families.  We were to be in the lobby at 3:45 am.  A few had a nap but most of us stayed up through the night.  As we were boarding the bus we got a message that our flight was delayed.  Half way through the four hour bus trip to Barcelona we were told that our flight was canceled. After MUCH time at the United counter we were told that we would have to stay overnight in Barcelona so they sent us to Hotel Alfa.  Lunch was served down the street.  We then headed to the beach near Hotel Arts where the 1992 Olympics were located.  Gelato (ice cream) followed, back to the hotel in taxis, then dinner and SLEEP.  We are hoping that some of the players will get flights tomorrow (July 5) and the rest of us on July 6.

We checked into the hotel and then time for lunch

Gelato!

So........Almost everyone managed to head home on Tuesday, just one day late.  We learn to be flexible and make the most out of every situation.  MANY, MANY thanks to BJ Johnson who worked tirelessly to get flights arranged for us.
